  • Octopus was the first yoga studio I've ever tried, and right away signed up for a membership. I eventually moved out of the neighborhood and have tried several other studios since then but none came close to Octopus. Reasons I loved this place: - Schedule. So many classes offered, weekdays and weekends, early morning and late night. There was always a way for me to book in for a class, even at the last minute. You end up knowing which classes get too crowded and which classes are less popular, but either way there was always at least one class available (the convenience of having the room downstairs and upstairs). - The teachers. All very different but all very friendly, with great teaching styles. Some I like more than others, but it was more a personal preference in terms of which poses I like going back to. - All in all, the quality of the classes. I've tried many of them, starting with beginners and eventually getting to Level 2 (I was so proud!). I was never bored and liked the variety of styles and levels. - The cost. I did the 2 week trial for free (I believe?) and then my membership was $99 a month. I remember at the time thinking that I was definitely treating myself because I thought the cost was a bit steep but wow, compared to most yoga studios in Toronto, this was CHEAP! - The facilities are great. Clean, spacious, bright, welcoming. - The other services. I've seen a Naturopath and Massage Therapist upstairs and was happy with both appointments. As a member I also got a discount price. - The CAFE! Yummiest cupcakes. It was my treat after a morning class (the cafe closes at 7 pm). All in all, I miss this place and wish I was able to find another gem like this in my new neighbourhood. Will keep looking!
