I got tattooed at skin design by Mathilda. My experience with her was absolutely horrible! She did a thigh tattoo, knee tattoos, and calf tattoo on me. My first experience with her was my thigh tattoo which was done so horribly that half of it fell off during the healing process and when I went back to get it finished she asked "what did i do wrong!" i didnt mind it because she was an apprentice and I understood she was just learning. (I had tatroos before this and new how to heal them so the tattoo not healing right was not my fault). When Mathilda was finishing my thigh tattoo she was digging very deep (which I delt with because I knew she was an apprentice) I got sick from the pain and she had to stop. So a tattoo that should have taken one session had now taken three. Mind you I had gotten multiple tattoos before and had never had a problem with handling pain before. In fact every other tattoo artist I've gone to has told me that I sit great. Since the third session of my thigh tattoo went smoothly I went back to her for knee tattoos. Nothing went wrong during that appoitment but the tattoos were done horribly and I ended up getting them covered up! Now to the calf tattoo (I know I'm just dumb for going back at this point). Half way through the tattoo she stopped and said she wasn't experienced enough to finish it!! She said I could take the design to another artist and promised to email me a picture of it but never did! If I hadn't sent a picture of the design to my friend I never would have been able to get it finished! I'm posting this now because I just got it finished a couple months ago and there was literally 10 minuets of work left so she was more than capable of finishing it!! Realizing that made me so mad that I decided to write a review about the bullshit I went through at skin design. It's completely unprofessional for an artist to start a tattoo they cannot do (or just don't want to do)!! It is also unprofessional for skin design to let someone tattoo people when they obviously aren't ready to yet! I would also like to add that I didn't go to her just to get cheap tattoos. Mathilda has a great art style that I loved and I tipped her about $300 the first time I went to her. I tipped less the other times because I felt that the quality of work I was getting wasn't worth that much money but I still tried to never tip her under $60. I also never said anything earlier because I felt like those were the consequences I had to deal with for going to an apprentice and that it was my fault for going back to her but regardless of all of that no one should receive such horrible service.
