  • Blatantly false advertising . They advertise NY strip steak at the buffet on a large video screen. Not wanting to miss super bowl I checked out the Buffett at lunch - they had steak. So I picked this for dinner during super bowl . It was super bowl Sunday and at 4pm right when the Buffett opened. I asked about gluten free options. They were few gluten free protein choices other than steak and chicken wings . Most of the staff didn't even know what gluten was, that's howpoorly trained they were. So I patiently WAITED for the NY STRIP steak to come out.... No steak. They never intended to serve ANY NY STRIP STEAK AT ALL DURING THE ENTIRE MEAL! BUT THEY STILL ADVERTISE IT! I saw some during lunch and they are tiny pieces about the size of a regular McDonald's hamburger bearing no resemblance to the steak shown on the video ads and in the hotel rooms. The restaurant doesn't have butter, just the " butter flavor" liquid they use on popcorn. Took them 10 minutes to go to another restaurant to get butter... And they serve corn on the cob! No food was "kept to temperature" 140 degrees ( all was cold- no steam) , cold despite me coming in right when the Buffett started and the food was cold at the core too . Many items like the corn in the cob, chicken wings, ribs were previously frozen . Indian casinos do a much better job. $22.71 to be bait and switched from NY STRIP to chicken wings. It made my super bowl a crappy experience . I asked the hostess for a refund and she said she would get a manager - the manager said "We NEVER ISSUE REFUNDS" I think this restaurant is representative of the Palms Experience you can expect here . I have stayed at South Pointe which is lack luster compared to the rest of the strip , I gotta say South Pointe is a far better experience . We personally know George Maloof ( a friend from Aspen Colorado) who would simply not stand for this. I then asked the hotel to credit me and they also refused. Don't expect American customer service here . Too bad The Palms has become a place for " low rollers " only. Don't say I didn't warn you about this Buffett . When I see George on the slopes this winter in Aspen, I'm making him pick up the check.
