| - I really wanted to love this hotel, as I am a fan of the W brand and had not had a chance to stay at an Aloft yet. I got the room I stayed in through a Starwood Preferred Guest special, for a quick weekend trip to see the Tigers play the Indians.
Since it's brand new, it's very nice and sleek and modern as you would expect. Loved that there were Bliss products in the bathroom. But unless you're a heavy sleeper (like my boyfriend, so unfair!), I don't know how you have a good night at this place. We were on the second floor all the way on the other end from the bar on the first level, and I could hear and feel the music until closing time Saturday night. The trains going by also shake the entire room. There are less of them at night, but in the morning, forget it. Also, the guest room doors don't have any mechanism to keep them from slamming, as well as the sliding bathroom door. Scared the crap out of us several times.
It's in a decent spot as far as walking distance for some downtown Cleveland stuff, the hike from Progressive field wasn't bad... but based on the transit activity? Nope. Going back to one of the Marriott properties on future trips to the Cleve.
