  • AW SHUCKS, I could eat a whole bucket of oysters but this college student is on a budget so I might have to put that on hold till I enter the real world and start making some money to afford it all... My friend and I came for Happy Hour on Wednesday around 4:30pm (when HH starts). We were seated right away and it didn't seem too busy yet at this time. The space seems a lot smaller than I thought but I think it's just a more narrow space than most restaurants. It's a bit dim inside but there is this one row of seating right at the back where a window of natural lighting shines in from the top so we were seated there. Also, the music can get a little bit too loud and I think if it were the weekend it'll get pretty crowded. Probably a good place to come after a work day to just chill with coworkers or friends. For the Happy Hour Oysters, you have to order in batches of 6. The first batch of 12 that we ordered were both from the East Coast - half Delaware Bay and half Half Moon. The Delaware Bay oysters are still $1 for HH but the rest of the east coast oysters raised to $2 I believe (as well as the west coast oysters). The Delaware Bay tasted clean and a little more bland than the other types of oysters we tried. I think that you would need the mignonette or some hot sauce to give the Delaware Bay more flavor. But for the Half Moon, the bit of the saltiness that it already had didn't call for any additional toppings. We weren't satisfied with eating just 6 oysters each, so we ordered 6 more but this time from the West Coast - KUMIAI. I would say this was the best one out of the three types we tried. It had the perfect amount of flavoring and balance of taste. And it was a little more "plump," as the menu described. In addition to the oysters, we ordered the Louisiana Lobster Roll Sandwich, which came with cajun fries. This was my first time having a lobster roll... To my surprise the sandwich was a lot more buttery than I was expecting? Like the bread seemed drenched with butter... I think it would've been better to my liking if it wasn't all overwhelming with butter but the lobster tasted yummy:) The fries that came with the sandwich were quite soggy... didn't taste freshly made. Also I don't think the cajun seasoning was on them because it just tasted like regular fries.. hmm.. we didn't bother telling them but might want to check on that the next time. Overall, I had a good experience and would come back for the oysters!
