  • $3 for a half assed cup of water?......0 Stars is not an option? I hate this company, if you love Walmart to the point you wish it had wings so you could spend 5 hours in it and walk out at a new destination, you'll love Spirit. Years back it was cool, you were in the fair club and were offered great deals on turnaround flights like Atlanta to Miami, it was great for what it was... But once they started flying more than a few miles, it was over. I flew them last year, it was horrible, I hated it, but no one charged me for a beverage... This year I fell into the trap once again as I always forget that a personal item is not a carry-on and then once you pay $45 each way for the carry-on you could have just flow Delta and had wifi... wifi! The moment you regret flying with these people is when you have crammed all your crap in a small bag, then get to the airport in the middle of the night only to find that the one ticket counter with a line is Spirit. Print a paper boarding pass as your digital boarding pass will not work from Spirit. When you finally get to your gate, you will know it, because it is like they are offering survival rations in a great depression and everyone has an insatiable desire to stand around as if the seats are not assigned or lay on floor as if anyone should trust carpet. I think the staff thinks they are being assertive or funny both at the gate and on the plane but most of the time, it is rude and an exhibition of poor etiquette. I mean, some of the people are good but I fell like working for Spirit is a lateral move for people who were slightly better than the majority of what TSA has to offer. The leg room is a joke, the people who fly there because they thought it was the best deal normally bring noisy children who should not have been allowed to nap before the flight, way too much stuff, and poor armrest manners. I asked for a cup of water and the lady says, "Sure, that will be $3, will that be debit or credit?", to which I replied, "Oh no thank you, I will just die" (The plane laughed)... And then she followed with, "but a cup of ice is free..." At this moment I knew, the only person to blame is myself... This is not my life, I put myself here, knowing there were airlines that were not offering "100% steerage"... Then when we landed, the flight attendant says, "please tell everyone that Spirit got you to your destination early as we are certain you would tell them if we were late"... No, I will not tell them you got me there early because despite who I am in real life my spirit animal is someone without $100 to pay for a carry-on (one way) at the last minute, someone who is my same height and could not fit in your non-reclining seats, and someone who died of dehydration because the $3 to my name was in cash and you do not take that... The only good thing about the flight is you meet other awesome people who hate Spirit now too... Great icebreaker.
