I've been to Pappadeaux a couple of times since my initial visit and review. Most visits have been pretty good - the worst was when they lost my reservation completely even though I could prove I called and everything. Luckily we got there fairly early so the wait for a table wasn't TOO long. The visit was off to a rocky start and the service was ok.
We decided to give Pappadeaux another chance and skipped the reservation this time (after what happened last time). We were seated in the alcove area which was nice, minus the fact our waitress kept forgetting about us. Water was warm and nearly hot, food arrived without silverware, bread basket never arrived, we had to ask several times for side plates. Luckily the food was still delicious in spite of the mediocre service.
We ordered the lobster salad which is a favorite, the fried alligator, the shrimp and grits, coconut shrimp and key lime pie. Although the key lime pie was a standard key lime pie it was delicious! The coconut shrimp stole the show for sure, we ended up liking it better than the alligator (which is why we started coming here).
