  • Citizens Kitchen and Bar would have gotten just 2 stars from me, but a couple of items are able to bump it up to 3 stars. First of all, if you opt to dine in for dinner, at least the couple of times that I've gone (Sunday after 10pm), it gets really LOUD because of the band that plays just across the way. Sometimes you just want to wind down with some good conversation, but you can't really do that with the extremely loud music playing. If you have a headache, forget about coming here! When we went back recently, we opted to just take our food to go. Anyway, I like a cozy ambiance or a place with a trendy/sexy vibe; Citizens has neither. So no problem not dining in that time. On both of my visits, service was meh. The hostess the time we dined in started to seat us out on their patio area closest to the live band. When we requested a quieter table inside, she sat us at a table right next to the patio making little difference in the noise level :/ There's definitely no service with a smile at Citizens, at least from my experience. As for the food, I definitely wasn't impressed on my first visit. I wasn't too hungry, so I opted for their french onion soup and got to taste my dining companion's penne prosciutto. Again, meh. Even though we weren't impressed on that visit, we went back to Citizens on a recent trip to Vegas since we were staying at the Four Seasons next door and our options were limited for late night dining. We ordered at their to-go counter, and I chose their cheese quesadilla this time and their salted caramel parfait. Their quesadilla I didn't care for but I did like the parfait. I ended up coming back a few days later to pick up a blondie. It had some toffee in it and was tasty overall and it did not disappoint! (I forgot to take pics of the food I picked up to go.) Overall, I would recommend Citizens for their treats at the to-go counter, or if it's late and you're not in the mood for fast food and there are no other options nearby. Otherwise, I wouldn't go out of my way to have a meal here.
