I really hate to write this review, but it's the only way I can think of to get this off my chest. We celebrated my son's first birthday 10 months ago-yes, it's still bothering me-and we ordered two cakes from Drago Sisters. The only two people to get major gastrointestinal upset that day were the only ones who ate from my son's smash cake: My husband and my son. I usually like to tell people my son never gets sick until I remember his first birthday, when he got food poisoning from his birthday cake.
Ok, sure accidents happen. Maybe the baker that day forgot to wash her hands. Or maybe they were low on staff and needed a sick person to come in. What pushed me to write this was the rude middle-aged woman who took my order almost a month before my son's birthday. She was annoyed, then put me on hold. When she picked up the phone, she was laughing until she had to "deal" with me again. (The cakes were simple and I consider myself relatively very polite.) A few days before we picked up the cake, I called to see if I could make some minor changes to the order. The younger sounding girl was willing to help, until she asked permission to change my order. Then, I heard the raspy middle-aged woman in the background cut her off and tell her I can't make the size of one of the cakes smaller because there isn't enough icing...?? I should've canceled my order right on the spot. This bakery gave my son food poisoning on his first birthday and one of the bakers is a rude, probably unhappy woman.
