| - I'm in Toronto to attend a 7-day soccer tournament, using Expedia my mother and I found that Isabella Hotel had the most reasonable prices. We looked at images online of the hotel, lobby, and rooms to ensure we would have a decent experience. However, I failed to check the Yelp reviews.
Now that I'm here at the hotel I decided to see what other's experiences were like. The past reviews on Yelp about this particular hotel are unfortunately very accurate!! It is very disturbing that reviews that were made 2-3 years ago are still a true representation of our experience.
The main issues I have is the lack of cleanliness, the size of the room, and the free "breakfast". Once I entered the room, the first thing I noticed were the dirty bedsheets, the sheets and mattress were covered in stains. We notified the front desk of this and asked for clean sheets. Once we got the sheets, we discovered that the sheet covering the mattresses were zipped closed so we were unable to change the sheets. I should also add that the new sheets we asked for were dirty.
The room is extremely small, definitely not enough for 2 adults. The sink, toilet, and shower are within three inches of each other. The mini fridge in the room had an opened carton of milk (I'm assuming left behind by the previous tenants). The trash can in the room was not emptied. The coffee pot clearly had some sort of white residue at the bottom of the pot.
This is my second day here so I will probably update this review but the last thing that I found disappointing was the free "breakfast". Personally I do not constitute sliced bread, mini muffins, juice, and milk as breakfast.
I will speak with the hotel manager and Expedia about our experience because I do feel lied to and deceived to a certain extent. I highly doubt I'll stay at this hotel for the duration of our trip!
If it isn't clear, I do not recommend this hotel at all!
