  • My wife and I enjoyed our dining experience at Kyoto, and although there was nothing significant to complain about, it just didn't offer the flare and excitement of some of the Hibachi/Teppanyaki dinners we are used to. The building is aged and decor is dated, which takes nothing away from the quality of food, but unfortunately doesn't do much to contribute to the ambience. The chef's performance was a highlight, he was talkative and efficient and funny, just as we would expect. Unfortunately the food was just different from what we are used to. Fried rice wasn't as buttery and soft, and the veggies were just too "mixed". I suppose we may just be guilty of enjoying our southern, buttery, goodness from the Carolinas. Overall, Kyoto provided us a good dining experience, just not at the top of our "must dine at again" list.
