Obviously this place is alllllll about the hype.
If you don't have to stand in a ridiculous line and you get service, it's completely wroth it.... other than that, it's just a pastry shop.
We waited in a 10 minute line, ordered 2 mini apple strudels, a lobster tail (what they're famous for) and 2 eclairs. I thought the apple strudels were on the dry side and the eclairs were a little too oily/too much shortening in it. It left an oily taste in your mouth.
I really liked the lobster tail and thought it was made perfectly. I'm sure these vary day by day.
In any case, it was worth coming to Carlo's Bake Shop just for that. I would absolutely not wait in a long line for it though. :)
