  • Red Rock Canyon is a breath of fresh air in the Las Vegas area. We rented a car and headed down to Hoover Dam, then drove west of the city to visit this park. The scenic drive is definitely worth it, and I imagine the hiking is great as well. The scenery is beautiful, but the most amazing thing about this park is how quiet it is. The spectacle of Las Vegas is only 30 minutes away, but in the canyon you don't hear or see any of it. It's like a whole other world. I'd definitely visit again, this time earlier in the day to take advantage of some of the hiking.
