  • Went in for teeth cleaning and some fillings, under the impression they were going to do all the dental work, not just four hours of teeth cleaning. I chose to be sedated with Halcion, a high power benzodiazapine, before treatment due to extreme dental anxieties. When the Halcion didn't work and an hour in, after two doses, I was still having difficulties calming down on the table, they called the appointment off and sent me home. I rescheduled the appointment for just the teeth cleaning on the Tuesday of the next week, and when I showed up, they had just decided to cancel my appointment, claiming they had sent a letter to me about their refusal of treatment due to my anxiety, which would have been avoided in the first place for me if they had communicated effectively what was happening on the day of the initial appointment. No phone call, just a letter, which I didn't receive. On top of that, I requested for them to send my xrays four days prior before a new appointment at another dentist office that they felt could better treat me. I show up for that appointment, and guess what? No xrays were emailed, and they were closed that day. When I talked to Italian Smiles after showing up for my 'canceled' appointment, they said they just didn't bother to send them until the morning after my other appointment- how does that help me again? I had to get new xrays done because your secretary was to lazy to spend five minutes emailing another practitioner four days prior. I have no words for how unprofessionally they treated me. I understand that working with people who have dental anxiety can be a challenge, and I warned them about it before hand which is why I chose to be sedated. Which I was still charged for, even though no work got done and I obviously had no reaction to the Halcion they gave me. This was the worst, most time wasting interaction with a dental office I have ever had. Wouldn't recommend to anyone, ever.
