Years ago a friend from the West Coast sent me an Easter tin from See's Candies. From that day onward I either purchased candies from See's when I was in Hawaii or from the Internet. I am not much of a candy eater and certainly not one who craves chocolates and a mug of beer, but during holidays or for gifts candy is a customary purchase. With a lowered income such things as shipping costs dissuade my use of once favored Internet sites.
My friend Teri who seems to know where to buy everything recommended Sweet Designs when I knew a gift was due for my pharmacist who has been extraordinarily helpful in handling my prescriptions. I took the plunge and gave a one pound box from Sweet Designs. I received lavish praise. To an Easter dinner I brought candies from Sweet Designs and again was appreciated far more than any tin from See's ever brought me.
The owner and her staff are delightful. The selections are classic and not attempts to win you over with shocking ingredients or flamboyant decorations. It pleases me greatly to have a local place that offers elegance in a box.
