| - I bought a Chevy Corvette from Autonation in Gilbert in December 2017. My overall experience has been a Nightmare. Starting but not limited to the poor quality and unreliability of the product itself as well as misleading and delaying tactics of the dealership and sales. I have come to the unfortunate realization that Autonation as well as Cheverolet embrace a culture of no repercussions to any of their employees. It doesn't matter what level of unethical techniques used by those employees, as long as they make numbers look good, its ok. I would like to highlight the performance of some different departments.
The Sales Department.
When I was considering different options, I was told by a salesman in Autonation Cheverolet Gilbert that Corvettes are not never leased. A Consumer must "Buy" a corvette if they want one. A fact I learned later to be completely baseless. I am not sure what the commission structure is for those sales personnel however, there is obviously bias towards steering consumers to Buy even if they came in asking for a lease. Katelyn from the Sales department worked with me during the sale process. She told me many different things that I found to be Not true ( after I bought the car of coarse ). I was told that there is a Completely Separate service queue for Corvettes and Camaros. I had specifically asked her this question at least Twice and she had doubled down on that " fact". This was big concern of mine as I am very limited on my time, and after paying over 77K for a vehicle, I didn't want to be in the same queue as a Chevy Spark due to time restrains. She Lied to me, to my face multiple times. It is unfortunate that I believed her and now I am dealing with the aftermath. Were there any consequences for Katelyn for doing that, Absolutely none. She was rewarded for the sale, regardless of how she did it. That is Autonation Embracing the culture of no repercussions. Sales personnel can bend the facts all they want, as long as they make a sale, everything is kosher.
Vehicle Service Department
Before I start, I would sincerely like to recognize Wanye as he is probably the only person in this dealership, who actually wants to help customers. About 4 months after purchasing a brand new Corvette, It turns out that there was a serious problem with the " Torque Tube Assembly" which is a Vital part of the Power Train. I brought the vehicle to be fixed. It turns out that it would need a new assembly. After the vehicle had been repaired, I realized that the mechanics had chipped the paint on the rear fascia at multiple points during the repair process. The mechanics decided to give the vehicle back to me regardless of the fact that they had damaged my vehicle's paint at multiple spots ( with out telling me). These were big chips, they were not small ones, Something that should not have missed the eye of a professional mechanic, especially if it was a result of their own negligence.
I brought the vehicle back again, asking that these chips be repaired.
The Nightmare ( Autonation Collision Center )
Then the most horrible part of my nightmare began, and my car was sent to Autonation Collision Center for those paint chip repairs. Let me just emphasize that those people working there don't have a single ounce of professionalism in them. I literally felt that I was dealing with a bunch of clowns. This project was being quarterbacked by John, who is collision center director at that location. My vehicle stood there for over 2 weeks while they gave me and Wayne false stories and promises. Every time, they had a new excuse of how they got " tied up with other more important projects". Finally my car came back, with inappropriately aligned bumper. It was so bad, it had to be sent back to the Autonation collision center again. John claimed that this time It was "fixed", and sent it back, AGAIN, with an incorrectly aligned bumper. When I told them I wasn't happy with this poor quality work, I was asked to leave the car for more time, and that " they will get to it when they can". At that point, I decided It is probably better off that I drive my car with incorrectly aligned bumper, then not drive it for another month. These people at Autonation Collision center have Zero respect for anyone, their time or their integrity. This whole experience was absolutely degrading.
This whole thing is beyond absurd. I emailed their area director ( Miss Arleyne Bishop) about 2 weeks ago and she hasn't even bothered to respond or even acknowledge my email.
My sincere advised. CERTAINLY STAY AWAY From Autonation
And STAY AWAY from CHEVY if possible as well.
BOTH ARE HORRIBLE.
