| - Do yourself a favor and NEVER EVER go to this salon. They ruined my daughter's hair and 1 year later, she is still dealing with the damage. The salon owner Lindsay Smith is QUICK to sic her attorney on you and not rectify the situation. My daughter wanted her hair silver/ grey. Long story short, the stylist, Christine, left the bleach on too long, resulting in a chemical burn on the back of my daughter's ear and severely damaged her hair. To this day, 1 year later, her hair is STILL damaged. I had to hire an attorney and Lindsay Smith and her attorney had the GALL to suggest that my daughter may have applied other products to her hair which likely caused the damage indicated. The owner would not take responsibility for the damages "because the services in question were performed by Christine Harris, an individual who rents space from La Lou Salon. Christine is not an employee of La Lou and has no affiliation with La Lou other than as renter, and the services provided to her as renter. That not withstanding, and with all due respect to your client, the evidence gathered by my Client indicated that your client was more than satisfied with the services rendered after she left the salon". (which is true until she washed her hair a few days later with shampoo and water and it was ruined... would not dry... looked like matter fur...was falling out and breaking) "Additionally, no evidence has been provided that she suffered any damages whatsoever as a result of the services in question. In fact, my client has reason to believe that in the intervening days between the date the services were provided and her initial complaint regarding the services, your client may have applied other products to her hair which likely caused the damage indicated. Again, the services provided in this matter were provided by an independent stylist who is a tenant of La Lou Salon. La Lou Salon does not directly supervise the work performed by its renters. Please direct all further claims to Christine Harris, the stylist who performed the services in question".
I also filed a 112 page report with the Arizona State Board of Cosmetology... provided hair samples, photos, report from the dermatologist confirming the chemical burn, a letter from a follow up salon that cut my daughters hair, stating they had NEVER seen hair this damaged... a baggie of hair that fell out and was damage and the case was dismissed due to "insufficient evidence"/ WHAT A JOKE! The case was dismissed on December 9th and we were never even contacted!! I only found out today that it was dismissed because I emailed the investigator. This makes me sick to my stomach that a business can operate like this, not take any responsibility, not refund our money and blame the customer for their own mistake. AND that the State Board of Cosmetology dismissed it due to "insufficient evidence". This all seems a bit shady to me.
