  • I am so disappointed with this place after my first review was Five stars. I called ahead to get info on their upcoming spring break and Sloth encounter. My daughter loves them, I decided I would surprise her and book a time to see them. Thankfully, I called ahead to make sure I was booking everything correctly since I bought the annual pass about 4 months ago. It Clearly states on the web site and over the phone that there are no blackout dates for the Aquarium. However, after confirming with an agent, the front desk reception, they told me it will be an additional $54 dollars per person even though I ALREADY have an annual pass. I actually called back not to complain but to see if anyone would see my point of view. Which is: you tell me, what is the point of buying a family annual pass if you are not able to attend the so called "special encounters"?. While speaking with reception, I explained that an annual pass gets you nowhere. Meaning, am I just spending all this money to go when ever I want and see the same fish, the same bird, the same aquarium over and over and over??? Most families would say that the pass is to have access to the special events that are provided. Reception responded by saying that evening event are free to annual holders but encounters have to be additional, just like Seatrek and Behind the scenes. I replied by saying that I've actually paid the additional fees to take part in those activities, but let me remind you, those are daily activities that are ALWAYS available. The encounter with the sloth is only a 2 week period, from what she mentioned and will be re-evaluated at a later time. And I forgot to mention how she said that annual pass holders could only go at a certain time and date, so if I am a busy mom and busy dad with a busy life, I am out of luck if those times are taken or during a busy work week?? Did I mention busy enough times?? I mentioned the reviews from customers and how they were always about service and fees, she replied and I quote "those bad reviews are from customers about gripe issues". Look it up, gripe literally means unimportant, none trivial. Of little value. That's what they think about the unflattering reviews?? Great, here is another one. A special encounter should be part of annual holders terms. I have personally paid for their daily, ALWAYS there special activities, but this just does not make sense. I would actually be saving money if I booked a flight to Miami, booked a hotel and visited the Miami Aquarium for a full day rather then spend one day at this location with all the extra fees. There the aquarium is together with the Dolphins, one fee. But I guess they expect guest to surely want to use their annual pass to see the same thing, over and over and overrrr!!!!
