  • It started a bit rough, however, John (not sure if he is the manager?) made this experience worth it! For being downtown near major venues, especially during the holiday season, we expected it to be busy. But we did not expect the service to literally forget & neglect us. We opted to sit on the patio, it being less crowded. However- once we were sat, we sat for 30+ minutes without anything but menus. No water. Multiple servers were attending tables around us... we got up to walk out. John happened to stop us, and was MORE than helpful/attentive. Had it not been for him, we would have left. Just needing a brief but decent meal before our show, we were able to have some delicious small plates- the food is GREAT! Butternut squash ravioli was the best I have ever had. But still, throughout the entire experience- John was the only reason this place gets the stars it does, along with the food. Not at ALL impressed with how rude the rest of the wait staff was, literally ignoring us, visually noticing us sitting there making eye contact attempting to get at least a glass of water! None of the 3 ladies standing at the hostess station did much besides point to the patio & say, "sorry we are busy someone will eventually be with you". The staff, besides John, needs some serious instruction on customer service. But thank you to the kitchen for some excellent dishes, and most thanks to John! Really appreciate his effort in turning the experience around & genuinely caring for his customers. We all understand how hectic weekend evenings can be, especially during the holiday season, but this was one of the first times I have actually gotten up to walk out from a place- so we want to make sure John receives highest compliments because the food was great & HE made the difference between a total flop. I'd really like to return & try more of the menu- the food is absolutely great with a decent variety, plenty to choose from as well as reasonably priced. I just can't say I am eager to immediately return after the major lack of customer service. Please take some notes from John- total pro & saved the evening/review!
