For those who haven't visited the park this year, you're in for a treat. Grassy areas have been reseeded and the grass is green. Regular maintenance crews are there practically everyday. There are new rock and plantings landscaped areas seen on Gowan. Park personnel worked very hard this spring to beautify the park. They are always respectful and friendly and I appreciate what they do. I walk my dog faithfully every morning and afternoon, and we have made a lot of friends of the 4 and 2-legged varieties in the 1 1/2 years of going there. We look out for each other and know from a distance who's in the park. There are 5 baseball diamonds, 6 poop stations with bags, 5 covered playgrounds, 2 enclosed dog areas for large and small dogs, tennis courts, approximately a mile walking path, covered and open picnic areas with bbqs, three parking lots as well as plenty of curbside parking. There have been a number of homeless since we've been going there. Compared to downtown the numbers are minimal. They are not a bother and they check themselves out and head to other locations seemingly to areas with assistance. I have never felt threatened in any way.
