  • Appalling doesn't begin to describe the way Abbey Dental treated my wife for her dental appointment. We arrived at 3:30 PM as scheduled. Xxxxxx discourteously stammered "you know you're one hour late" as she fumbled at her computer. My wife works until 2:30 PM every day and would never have made a mistake of this nature. On March 3rd I called to verify her cleaning and diagnostic appointments. The operator confirmed both and told me I would receive an automated reminder the day before. Abbey Dental did not make the "reminder" call. Now all seemed clear. Abbey Dental made a mistake and now the mindless receptionist covered it by saying, we were late. Or, this was management's way to cope with double bookings or over crowded conditions. Either way, after stating we were late, Xxxxxx made no attempt to remedy the 5-week old bungled appointment. She merely said I'll "try" and squeeze you in and asked which appointment did we want to keep? We clearly stated the cleaning. Hearing all this I directly went to another of 4 receptionists and pleasantly, but firmly, requested to speak with a manager. I watched as receptionist and staff scurried about, seemingly about my request. My wife was then led into an office to take x-rays ten minutes later, I was asked to leave during the process. I again went and asked the same receptionist to speak with a manager. This time she told me the manager would be here momentarily. When a Dr. Xxxxxx went into the room 20 minutes later to discuss what was required I followed. Surely this wasn't how it worked at Abbey Dental whose television commercials endlessly play over the Las Vegas airwaves? Were requests for a manager blatantly ignored? Did Abbey Dental disregard our request to clean my wife's teeth as scheduled in favor of the potential revenue generating diagnosis? Even Dr. Xxxxxx seemed genuinely concerned about how my wife was treated and asked me to point out the receptionist who said we were late, which ultimately resolved nothing as he vanished into another office never to return. And now we were being asked to wait once again, and eventually led into an office to discuss costs with Xxxxxx? What happened to the manager I requested 4 times and more than 90 minutes of waiting? Where was Dr. Xxxxxx who was so concerned? What about my wife's teeth cleaning? None of this seemed to matter, all Xxxxx wanted to do was detail the costs and sell Abbey Dental services. And she didn't even have a clear picture of our insurance coverage? Fortunately for Xxxxxx, by the time we entered her office I was visibly unhappy and she could easily see it. Xxxxxx needed to speak with our insurance carrier and that would take 10-15 she said. "Why don't you guys leave, so we don't hold you up any longer and I'll call you in 10-15 minutes?" More than 24 hours later we have not heard back from Xxxxxx at Abbey Dental. I called my insurance carrier early today and they tell me no one called from Abbey Dental. I tried to call Abbey Dental today and was unable get through on any line. I can honestly say from 2 experiences now, that Abbey Dental is nothing but a well greased marketing plan and its' customer service and care is absolutely non existent throughout the entire staff. Abbey Dental is all about getting what they can from their customers. They are over crowded, short staffed and don't even have enough seats for people to sit and wait for scheduled appointments. And I might add, you can get similar pricing at almost any dental office if you request it. Abbey Dental is certainly not where to go for pleasant and caring dental service in Las Vegas. I have purposely Xxxxxx out all names in the hope that this critique will bring Abbey Dental down to earth. If I do not receive a reply to this posting from Abbey Dental with 48 hours I will post all appropriate names. Neil E. A Very Unhappy Abbey Dental Customer
