| - Delicious coffee, but their space isn't my favourite.
First, location. Just north of John Street and Adelaide Street West (right across from Marshall's and Corrado's), this Dark House location is situated in a basement, with a set of stairs you can descend down from street level.
Second, the space. I visited on a weekend morning and found the space a bit too dark for my liking. Casual vibe, but lighting was kind of dim. My own personal preference is to do work in brighter, open spaces, so if you have similar preferences, this may not be a "working" spot for you, but rather, a grab-and-go. It wouldn't be my first choice for coffee dates with friends either. They do have seats outside, if you'd like to sit out on their patio, but I didn't find the seats too comfortable.
Third, the service and coffee. Both were fantastic. I ordered a Latte and was pretty impressed: no burnt aftertaste, and very carefully put together. No complaints at all, and I'm really looking forward to trying out their other drinks.
Overall, the products are delicious, and I'll definitely drop by again to grab a drink or something for takeaway. However, given the space, it's not my first choice for a "work" environment, or a meeting, or anything other than a quick stop.
