  • We've had Royal Thai in San Francisco which is fabulous, 5 Star in San Diego which was the best, and found Mint Thai Cafe years ago. It's the best Thai food we've experienced here in AZ. 2.5 stars is the hottest we can go. I don't know why people seem to always order items that are Americanized and not try the great (better) dishes they offer, like Rama Beef--YUM-OMG! or the Nam Sod--oh so delicious, the ginger, the lime, cilantro and it would be fantastic if they included mint, plus a side of the cucumber salad like we got at the SD restaurant. So we always get Nam Sod, Massuman curry, rama, plus sometimes the satay. Satay is fantastic but not as wonderful as shrimp satay (which we got in SD). Too bad it's a drive, but still worth it. The service is better (this is the 3rd owner (no more Mr. One eye) since we started there) and the atmosphere has improved with the renovation, but the prices have almost doubled.
