Very disappointing customer service.
My sister and I wanted a very special arrangement sent to my parents on the day of their 50th Wedding anniversary and I guess my sister had either had good experiences with Quince or had heard good things. So we ordered an arrangement (cost $185) to be delivered the day of their anniversary, which was Friday.
Turns out that my parents had unexpectedly left for the weekend. So the delivery person left the arrangement at the neighbor's house and my parents returned home on Monday to find the flowers mostly dead.
I understand that it's not Quince's fault that my parents weren't home (we had no idea they were away). However, don't most florists have a plan in place for recipients not being home? It would have been nice if they had called my sister to find out what to do. We would have much preferred that they take them back to refrigeration and my parents could have picked up themselves on Monday. The neighbor was not happy to be left with the delivery. And why were the flowers mostly dead only three days later?
The employee was quite friendly when my family members called to complain and suggested that the store could offer some kind of credit. However, when my mother spoke to the owner she said the owner was very snippy about it which offended my mother.
All in all, given the cost of the arrangement, and given the circumstances, I think the florist could have done a much nicer job of making some kind of conciliatory gesture. We're talking about an arrangement of almost $200!! And the occasion was special and we were hoping for a nice experience for my parents.
I'd love to be able to update this post and tell you all that Quince made good but I'm not sure that's likely to happen.
