I'm originally from Pittsburgh but moved away, and this is the best tour to take a visiting out of towner. Fun for kids and educational for adults. I've done this twice -- 15 years apart -- and both times the guides were engaging and presented great info about the city's history & present. As interesting as it is however, it's a series of vignettes rather than a cohesive narrative.
Starting from Station Square, the tour drives across downtown to the North Shore, where it briefly splashes into the Ohio River for a view of the Golden Triangle, then takes the same route back. The use of the historic landing craft for this is great.
