  • Hmm. We have been on a search for a decent bakery in Madison for 2 years. It's been tough, so we thought we would give this place a go. We ordered one frosted cookie, one princess cake and one white buttercream frosted cupcake. The consensus was cupcake was fair, if you like your buttercream tasting and texture more like whipped. The princess cake (fondant covered marzipan cake and raspberry) was very very good. The frosted cookie HAD to be at least a week old! It was hard as a rock and obviously not a fresh bake. The thing is Rolling Pin bakery, yes we can tell when you're trying to save costs by selling old stuff. It's a bad business plan. One stale cookie means you cut corners. Now in this instance, I would have given you possibly four stars, but if you foist stale bakery on a customer when you want to be known for your baked goods, you are shooting yourself in the foot. The princess cake was very good. Other than that, I would give this place a meh.
