I have yet to be disappointed by this place and it is always one of the first places that I bring guests when they visit Madison. The full walls of windows makes this place light up during the day and gives you a beautiful view of the Capitol square that makes the whole ambiance of this restaurant quite wonderful. There is quite a bit of seating, but it is spread out enough that it actually feels very spacious with open windows. Additionally, the bar that is the central point of the restaurant is a great addition that makes fantastic drinks year round. I highly recommend having any of the cocktails and definitely the seasonal punch that no matter what season it is, it has never disappointed.
I have had numerous things on the menu from appetizers to entrees and have yet to find something I didn't like. Although a weird item for a Wisconsin menu, the Bibmbap is a must-have that is packed full of flavor in every bite. You have an option of adding in pork or tofu to it and either way you go you can't go wrong. I have been avidly against tofu for a long time because I often find that it has little flavor and a weird texture, but this tofu is flavored in a spicy sauce that makes it a delicious addition of protein to this meal. They also have a rotating market menu that always has a wide selection of dinner entrees that consistently make deciding on a meal difficult because they are all so enticing. Honestly, in terms of appetizers, you can't go wrong with cheese curds in Wisconsin, but the spinach and artichoke dip accompanied by toasted crostini is a wonderful starter that is perfectly creamy without being too heavy. All in all this is a great spot in Madison that shouldn't be overlooked.
