| - A trip to Cleveland is never complete without a visit to the VTR. I have introduced so many locals and out-of-towners to this place and they are always amazed at what is tucked away on Duck Island, and I mean tucked away. Even when I know where I'm going, I miss this place every time.
The typical crowd are those who want to be seen, but it is not unusual to run into a neighborhood local at the bar. Paulius, the owner, is active and frequently seen handling out a long-stemmed red rose to the ladies.
Drinks, while a bit expensive for Cleveland, are amazing. As you have probably witnessed on the Food Network, the mixers are made in-house and always fresh. The bartenders carefully measure their potions to provide the best quality drinks in the area to their patrons.
VTR has a limited but satisfying menu of appetizers and desserts. I love the tapenade, served on the charcuterie plate. My only complaint is there is not enough. For a big treat, try the Bananas Foster, served tableside. Yummo!
There is no parking lot, but ample street parking. Just park under a street light if you are not comfortable. Typically a limo or two on a Satruday night.
