| - Normally I would give this place two stars for it's hot, noisy, treeless patio, cheap furniture, dingy interior, mediocre veggie burger, overpriced drinks selection and all young female servers but The Black Bull falls under category of 'Places I will never be desperate enough to return to', because of one incredibly belligerent bartender.
He refused to serve a friend of mine who wanted to grab a shot as we were leaving the place because her driver's license was expired so he assumed it was fake and we were underage. He was belligerent to us, a group of young women in our early twenties for no reason at all and the most ridiculous part of this is that we had already been served beer and food on the patio and paid.
I asked to speak to the manager. He pulled the old, "I am the manager," routine and laughed at us, so at this point we decided to leave and never return.
You can do a lot better in this area both patio and food-wise. The Black Bull only stays in business by catching the low-hanging fruit of summer tourists who are walking by and tired, because of it's high street visibility.
