| - I went to brunch here this past Sunday with a group of 20. We of course made reservations well ahead of time and miraculously ended up with exactly 20 people attending.
The first not so great moment was when we were told that 14 of us would be at one large row of tables and 6 of us would be on the complete opposite side of the restaurant. My thoughts are, why would they take the reservation if they didn't have a place for 20 of us to sit together? Also, why would they think we were all going to brunch together if we were fine with sitting on the opposite side of the restaurant?
It was pretty disappointing. A small group ended up leaving and a table next to the long row of tables opened up. However, we still didn't have enough room for everyone, so three people ate on chairs at the end of the row because we were told they couldn't put a table there for fire code reasons. Why is there a bench there to sit if you can't put a table there?
They were completely unorganized and despite our extreme efforts to be incredibly kind and empathetic to the waitresses, one of them was incredibly rude and snapped every time she was asked a question. So, the service was already very sub par.
The food, meh. Not much better. I ordered two mimosas right off the bat (I thought I may not get another chance to order a beverage) - which I went up to the bar to do because no waitress came by our table during the first 10 minutes after we arrived. Those were good. The guy at the bar filled them almost to the top with champagne and added a splash of orange juice. They were also only about 5 dollars I think, which isn't that insanely overpriced. For brunch, I ordered the French Toast with a side of bacon. For some reason, they thought I meant I wanted ONE PIECE of French Toast.
This is totally lost on me. Would I really order one piece of french toast and a side of bacon and that's it? I even pointed at my menu and said "THE" french toast. So, that was weird. After awhile our food came and everyone was pretty much agreed that it was not very good. A friend of mine ordered pancakes and said they were incredibly chewy. The French Toast was fine, but nothing special.
At the end of the meal, it took an incredibly long time to get our checks. They messed a bunch of people's up and we waited almost a half hour for ours once they started giving them out.
All in all, it was somewhat ridiculous and there was really no redeeming qualities to the place at all. We live a block away and I doubt I'll ever be dining here again.
