  • I love this supermarket! Bright colors, hand-painted signs, pinatas, balloons and piles of freshly prepared food make me want to party right in-store with an agua fresca in hand. :) I would love to have such a festive ethnic supermarket in my hometown. My family stopped by to pick up a birthday flan (incidentally, the largest flan I've ever seen in my life- it must've weighed at least 6 lbs) for my youngest niece. We couldn't help but leave with that- plus some excellent posole, Mexican rice, watermelon agua frescas, horchata and a few avocados. I almost made off with a tortilla press as well, but was able to exercise a bit of self control at the last moment. If I lived in Phoenix, I imagine I'd be at the Phoenix Ranch Market's food court constantly.
