| - Absolutely horrific. Went through SafeStreets USA, an authorized ADT dealer. I rushed home from work to wait for the technician, as we had a 3:30 pm - 5 pm appointment. By 5:45 p.m., I still had not heard from ADT. I called the main number, was placed on hold for several minutes. When I was finally connected to a representative, she told me she had the technician on the line, and he would not be arriving before 7 p.m. As I was disappointed in the customer service aspect of not even having been granted a courtesy call, I told the representative to cancel my appointment altogether. I told her I did not want to reschedule, as I would be going with a different company. Eight days later, I happened to notice a charge of $99 on my credit card! I had been told I would be charged the activation fee once the technician had installed the alarm. Additionally, I had canceled the service, and they did not cancel the service fee. I had to call ADT, inform them this behavior could be considered fraud, and have them reverse the fee. I was told the reversal would take at least 3-5 business days. In other words, they had NOT attempted to reverse the fee of their own accord. Had I not noticed the charge, they would have happily collected my money without performing the service. My advice is to be extremely cautious when dealing with this company; or better yet, go elsewhere.
