I cannot speak of others experiences, other than maybe there were some misunderstanding in how things go with insurance companies and doctors.
This was a very professional office. Ariana answered the phone on Tuesday of last week, she was pleasant and took my info over the phone. She asked what insurance I had, and explained that BCBS allowed same day consult/procedures. I took that option since my wife and I had already discussed and agreed to the vasectomy. My appointment was set for the following Monday. On friday they called to confirm my appointment , again very pleasant and professional.
Monday I arrived at the location at 1728 w. Glendale Ave. The place looked like a mid 80s medical plaza on the outside but once I got inside everything looked clean and tidy. Up the elevator and into the lobby for Dr. Fishman. The lobby was clean, had some medical infotainment on the flatscreen and magazines.
I walked up to the window and the gal behind the window took my id and copay. My appointment was at 4:15 and I was called back at 4:15.
In the consult Dr. Fishman answered all my questions and asked me if I understood that I was electing ti become sterile. He explained the proceduee and aftercare. Then it was off to the procedure.
The room was a typical medical exam room, trays, exam table/chair thing. Dr. Fisman came in and began. My leg was shaking in anticipation and he talked with me a little to help me be at ease. Some manipulation, anesthetic, snip snip sear and the left one was done. Repeat for the right one and it was done. That easy!
A little exit consult about aftercare and I got to go back in 10 weeks to run an analysis to ensure the procedure worked.
Thanks to Dr. Fishman and all the staff.
