| - Prior to tonight, I would've rated this place a solid 4-stars. However, tonight the made me feel like I was some kind of criminal for ordering a Smirnoff Ice with Grenadine. I know...crazy right? But stick with me.
Tonight, my wife, her sister and I visited the Bingo hall for BAD (Bingo After Dark); which is bingo with a D.J., loud music, drinks, and dancing. A much needed relaxing night after a long week. It's usually a very fun night as we have been doing this for the last several years. But tonight, security was being total jerks.
So, back to my drink of choice for the night. Not something I normally drink, but I saw a woman in front of me in line at the bar order the drink and I was sure the ladies I was with would enjoy it more than a normal beer. Well, I was approached by security waiting to get into the bingo hall. The guy told me he talked with the bartenders in the casino and they all said they dont sell that type of drink. After much back and forth, I told him the bar by the cafe sold it to me and pointed in the general direction of where the bar was located. He left and I thought that was the end of it. Well it wasnt.
Later after I'd settled into my seat for a nice night of bingo, we get approached from the same security guy. After a lot more back and forth, I told him that I would walk him to the bartender and show him who served me the drink. Reluctantly, he agreed. And when we got to the other side of the casino I said, "Excuse me, but do you remember serving me this drink?" The bartender looked up and said to the security guy, "I thought you were talking about the bottle color." The security guy said it's supposed to be clear. I told him "It's got grenadine in it and changes the color. Grenadine is a flavoring, it adds flavor to it." The bartender agreed and I left the security guy behind while I was heading back to bingo. At the door to the bingo hall, I get stopped again by a different guard that said, "I thought my supervisor told you to pour that out!" In a very snarky voice. I shot back "No he didn't. You can call him yourself and ask." A few seconds later the first security guard walked up behind me and waved her off to let me go ahead.
Now, I'm not one to write reviews except for very poor or very exceptional service. But tonight, I did not appreciate having to prove my innocence in buying a daring from the same establishment that almost kicked me out for buying said drink.
Perhaps it's because lately this place has been overrun with shady characters that look like the cast of Blood In Blood out. (If you haven't seen it, it's a great old movie).
So, I think I may be done with this place for a while. Which really sucks because I used to really enjoy my nights here.
