  • This was my first time experiencing a 3 Michelin star restaurant and it did not quite live up to the exceptions. I have been to a few 1 star and the experience was definitely elevated from that but I did not think the food itself was. We were sat in the gorgeous mock courtyard that made you feel like you were in a private French Garden. The sommelier made wine suggestions and we got a half bottle which was superb. The bread cart came next. A sensory overload of gorgeous French bread varietals rendered in miniature. After several selections they brought a cart with imported butter and salt to carve table side. This might have been the best part of the meal for me. It was unexpected and wonderful. I had some classics and some interesting twists like a bacon and Dijon. We had the Chestnut Veloute and the Foie Gras Millefeuille for appetizers. Both were good but nothing life altering. We had the Veal Cheeks and the Ribeye for entrees. The Veal Cheeks were tender but I did not care for the Thai preparation. The Ribeye was fantastic. The sauce and spices came together beautifully. For dessert we had the Sphere and the Chocolate Soufflé. The soufflé was delicious but it was the sphere that was the unexpected star. The waiter described it as feminine. It was such an odd description but right on. It was delicate and floral. Complex and delightful. The miniature dessert cart finished the meal with a confectionary delight. I selected quite a few all of which were delicious. The parting gift of a lemon pound cake was a welcome treat to take home. Overall it was an amazing experience but for the price tag and the reputation I was expecting all of the dishes to be equally mind blowing.
