  • I've been going to this Scottsdale/PV location for quite a few years and it seems to me this place is steadily heading downhill. The pool was closed all of last winter ostensibly for repairs. This summer (2017) it has operated on very limited hours, and now I just found out it will be closed again this winter! There are going to be some unhappy snowbirds! Toward the end of last year they did an extensive remodel. A nice, but somewhat small lounge area, has been closed off and converted into a kiddie corral of some sort and the adult lounge is now basically just one big uncomfortable wooden table in the lobby itself! The workout area had all new equipment put in. The treadmills work fine with the exception of some of the TV's. The locker room is still a mess--the old reliable mechanical scale was replaced with a digital scale which today didn't work. The temperature in there is set for someone from the Arctic, and the hot water in the showers is actually closer to luke warm. One of the sinks has only a trickle of hot water. On to the gym--it is of nice size but the wooden floors have a great many dead spots, and this has been the case for as long as I have used it. All in all, I would never pay anything to workout in this place; the only reason I use it is because it is free thru Silver Sneakers.
