| - Loved this restaurant! The food was out of this world, the wait staff were super knowledgable, friendly and helpful with suggestions, and the reservation manager was charming, and very accommodating with getting us a reservation by phone tag.
We are long time / frequent visitors to Montreal from NM & NYC. Read about this restaurant in lonely planet as their top pick in this part of town. How wonderful to have a great restaurant (we stay in Verdun, on the river) so close and easy to drive to or take a metro.
Now about the meal...yummy! Appetizer: grilled octopus with hummus/tabouli/etc sides. octopus was so tender, mixed flavors so well, and easily "deconstructed" for the non-octopus eater at the table. Main meals: 1. grilled mediterranean bass with grilled veggies (including wonderful mushrooms), and 2. braised lamb shank... mouth watering as i sit here in NM remembering. 3. "desert" Quebec cheeses, cheese plate. (waitress was great at giving us a selection to learn and munch on new cheeses for us) Top all this off with delicious bread (i have the bakery name from the waitress for my next visit) and a fantastic Bergerac red, and we were so much more than pleasantly surprised by our evening!
Can't wait to go back for the food and service and staff...however, may wait for warmer Montreal weather...
