  • I have to say, I have been to nail salons all over Toronto but I have never had a shellac manicure as good as this one. For the past 5 years I have been a regular 'shellac-er' and gone through the ups and downs of what this city has to offer, but am so enthralled by the gem Polish'd is. Why? Well, they begin with a neutral white tone base coat (I haven't seen anyone else do this?) and maybe that's the secret as to why I'm going strong on day 9 without a single chip, crack or flaw. Aside to the bottom line of a fantastic manicure and shellac job, they have an excellent array of fresh, on trend colours, a cute clean spa, enjoyable music and movies playing to pass the time - the cherry on top is you get to choose what sort of delectably scented hand scrub you would like to finish up with. For the sake of playing devil's advocate, I will say the pedicure section looked underwhelming as the bar is simply too cute and small to accommodate the chair, my wonderfully skilled manicurist was not rude but she sure was not friendly or nice, understandably getting a appointment can be a bit challenging (totally worth it!) and lastly it is on the higher end price wise - almost double what I regularly pay. I can't see this becoming my go to nail place for everything based on booking availability and prices, but definitely the perfect place to treat myself or sneak in a pampering lunch break on the PATH.
