| - This past summer we moved to Scottsdale & bought a home with a 23-year old pool in very bad shape. We had numerous pool services give us quotes on new pumps, filter, and replace and move a heater, among other work. We received conflicting information regarding equipment, permits required, and what could and couldn't be done from virtually everybody. Some people couldn't figure out why we had four separate pumps or didn't understand our PCC2000 in-floor cleaning system.
Some told us we were stupid to want a gas heater while embellishing the advantages of a heat pump. A couple of services said we couldn't put a gas heater in because it would be against city code. Some said we needed massive electrical work performed on our system.
Only one, Jerry Theobald of AZ's Best Pool Service, was not telling us we had to replace all four pumps. Instead, he put a new variable speed pump in, used our former main pump to replace the pump controlling the pop-ups, rewired another pump to fix it, and put in a new motor on the fourth pump at a much lower cost than replacing it with a new pump.
Jerry provided us with the Scottsdale city codes regarding gas heaters to prove we could do what other services said was against city code.
We've owned swimming pools for 20+ years in other cities but have never experienced such high-quality workmanship, superb knowledge of pool equipment, along with the ability to fully and honestly explain all of the options available to us as we have with Jerry.
We strongly recommend AZ's Best Pool Service & Repair.
