Post-birthday pints with the main squeeze yielded a visit to a probable haunt--Mugshot Tavern has all the components of a fantastic default destination in the Roncesvalles/High Park hood.
The ambience is really great, straddling the pulls of hip vs. neighbourhood pub--the mugshots-as-decor work really well. The music was eclectic and consistently good.
The bartender let us know about the guest taps and we immediately ordered a pitcher. The bartender then came by with a sample of the other guest craft beer for us to try--and we had to have a pint each of that as well. Both beers were delicious.
We left a) pretty drunk and b) excited at the prospect of having such a great place so close by, and their emphasis on bringing in craft beers is a huge plus. And although I don't need more reasons to return, it sounds like the food is solid as well.
