| - I've been a dedicated MGM Grand customer, probably because I usually stayed at the MGM. But after so many years I've finally branched out and stayed at Mandalay Bay. That said: Spa Mandalay is not only an adequate replacement, it's an upgrade. More spacious, more luxurious--I totally spent the entire afternoon there pampering the bejeezus out of myself.
FACILITIES
The star attraction here, at least for me. Dry sauna, steam room, expansive jacuzzi and cold plunge. A "quiet room" where folks await their therapists, plus another lounge room stocked with the yummy fruity water I like plus juices, fruits and other snacks.
TREATMENTS
I booked an aromatherapy massage and the signature facial. I'll admit I was just going for the deep-pore treatment but couldn't say no to the booker when she suggested the more expensive signature treatment. Anyway, aromatherapy massage: people, unless you have the supersensitive sense of smell of Wolverine, don't bother--just book the less expensive Swedish massage. The scented oil, while perfectly pleasant, didn't register enough to justify the extra $. Therapist was excellent though. Nice pressure, not too sissy, not too hard. Made sure to check in with you to see if you're ok with everything.
As far as signature facial, it was excellent. I liked that you get a bit of a massage with it. A week later, my skin still felt pretty good.
