| - RP did a refinance of my property. Not only can I REALLY afford my house, but I was also paying down my mortgage during the refinance process. I have excellent credit, a well paying job and no debt other than the mortgage.
The original person I dealt with was great. Helpful, to the point with requests, etc.
The closer--K. Norton--was AWFUL. Every single day I was asked for new documentation of some random thing. Went AWOL during the process. The house appraisal used comps that were in no way comparable to my home (I fought and won that one). My closing documents were wrong 3X...I kept sending them away until they got it right...I learned the "cross it out and we'll fix it" (NOT) lesson the hard way a few years ago. Like the other reviewer, my closing date was 3+ weeks late...good thing I wasn't in a home purchase situation.
Honestly, I thought I was having issues because I had changed employers and had briefly rented my place while I temporarily worked in a different city. But no. My husband--who also still owns a house just in his name--is currently re-fi'ing his place and he only has a small mortgage that he can easily afford. Same exact issues, also with the same closer. Daily is asking for random docs, for example, looking for docs from when he re'fi'd 8 years ago (seriously??). We've both owned homes for years, and never had these issues during a finance process.
Like others said, great rates, good customer service up front to reel you in, then OMG!
