I contracted with UPack Moving services to arrange and manage shipment of my personal belongings from Washington State to Nevada. I paid extra for "3Day Guaranteed Transit". I loaded my items into the trailer in 1 business day (instead of the standard 3 days) and called UPack customer service to determine weather or not the extra 3 day transit cost applied to
deliveries being picked up early, or if I would need to do anything extra to ensure delivery in 3 business days.
I was assured by the representative that my reading of the contract terms was correct, and that the 3 days transit was based upon the pickup date, therefore no
other action would be needed on my part.
On the third day, I called the shipping company's dispatch department to schedule the time of delivery for my belongings. The shipper told me that UPack had relayed a delivery date as 5 business days (and a full weekend) after pickup.
I called UPacks's customer service department again and was told that the line item "3day Guaranteed Transit" and the contract section stating "The guaranteed delivery date is based upon the pickup date..." was inaccurate, and that the delivery date was a set date, even though
the line item sold to me was "3day Guaranteed Transit". When I asked to speak to a manager, the customer service representative "Neil" then told me that he was the manager and that he would not allow me to speak with anyone else. He then hung up on me and terminated the phone call even though I was trying to continue the discussion.
