  • Moved from Phoenix to the Bay Area. The folks who picked up the items were courteous and efficient. But everything past that point was a complete disappointment. Furniture and a number of dishes were broken. Books were damaged from boxes being thrown around, and the outsides of the packages were near-destroyed. It seemed as if the boxes had been mishandled in the truck, rather than problems with internal packing. While of course these things happen, Lifetime makes the process for reimbursement extremely confusing. They send you to an outside company and are deliberately vague about the process for how to refund you for what was damaged. Much more annoying was that they forced me to be available for a 10-business-day window in my new city, but then were two days later than that window. They acted like this was nothing strange at all, despite giving no advance warning on the delay. This forced me to alter flight plans. They initially insisted that they were not, in fact, late, which I did not appreciate. While one staffer offered $25 per day for the delay they gave no instructions or help in how to collect that (small) compensation. I eventually gave up trying to figure out how to get compensation, as with the items. They seem to be aiming for that result. The charges were high at the front end, but I thought I was paying to have good service. I received the opposite. They are not in any way worth it. If you are moving, make use of literally anyone else.
