  • Super 8 generally allows pets without an extra fee, which is why we booked this place for a Christmas getaway with my wife's mother and our cats. Nowhere on the website did it say anything contrary to the general policy, yet when we arrived, we were told "no pets." Not only could we not get our room, but since it was already evening, they kept our deposit for a room we didn't use. The clerk was rather unsympathetic to our plight as well, and made no attempt to help as I called around for another spot that would take us. They avoid a one-star only because they did provide my MIL with a pretty good experience, and the attached casino has a bargain prime rib restaurant.
