| - I have a love and hate relationship with Marty's Market.
Marty's Dinner Menu:
I don't know what kind of people are saying it's low quality food. That's a bold faced lie, maybe stop ordering just salads and put some real food in your gullet. Learn how to order people! On a whim, my bf and I practically ordered the entire menu: The compressed watermelon salad was to die for. The pierogies, my god, the pierogies. Order the short rib and poutine pierogies, for real. If I could make sexy food sounds I would. The hush puppies are incredible! They have bits of pork belly and a delectable honey butter sauce to dip them in. The combo of salty and sweet is what everyone wants! In terms of sides, you cannot go wrong with the risotto, slightly cheesy with hints of rosemary. Now I'm hungry, ugh.
Marty's Market Cafe:
Eh. I interacted with a male barista who I legit wanted to slap, not just once either. I used to work as a barista. When someone is cheery and smiling at you and trying to make conversation, that's when you smile back dude!!!! But instead, everything I said was postulated by a snarky response from Mr. I Hate My Job. True shame, when Kira worked here it was the greatest. Anyway, the coffee is still good if you ignore Mister Droopy Drawers. I love their seasonal lattes (they make all flavorings in house..none of that Torani garbage). Also try their almond croissants; yes they are expensive, but they are delicious and well worth the hefty price tag (well technically they are La Gormandine's almond criossants, but if you aren't in Lawrenceville then this is the place to get them).
Grocery:
They have groceries. They also have great produce. Interesting pottery (not my style really...quite common).
Butcher:
You can always find great house made sausages here! Great selection of meat that you won't find most places. However, last time I went the "butcher" didn't know the difference between turkey and pastrami when I was getting my deli meat sliced. I actually had to come around the counter and show him.
Clearly I could write a book on Marty's because they have something for everyone. 4 stars because some of their new staff is rude and untrained.
