| - Been a member of Anytime Fitness (Pinole, CA) since August. Moved to Las Vegas early February and decided to hop right back into it. First and foremost, this gym occupies a very large property and is very visible from the outside. Unlike most other Anytime Fitness locations, this one is 1.5 stories (I consider the second level more of a half because it only covers half of the property size). Regardless, it is a massive center and well-stocked. Key Fob access works flawlessly (so far).
Once inside, it can be a bit confusing, as most Anytime Fitness gyms the member lobby is right next to the door or to a side. At this location, that is broken into two parts: the members only lockers, and the members cubbies. If you do not pay the extra monthly fee for the lockers, you use the cubbies, which are at the back of the first level next to the management office, but on the backside of a stand alone wall. Lots of security cameras so the gym feels secure. 3 restroom / shower rooms with convenient "Vacant / Occupied" meters on the door handles. Machines all look relatively new and well maintained. A few vinyl rips and tears in some of the cushioning but that is expected with gyms. Massage Therapist accepts schedules of members (pay extra), tanning is available (pay extra), lots of classes like Abs and Core, PiYo, Spartan, TRX (not extra fee). The lower level of the gym is more heavy weight lifting, Olympic training, and the studio where classes are held and equipment like battle ropes, medicine balls, yoga mats are stored).
Sounds good so why 4 Stars right? This may be more of a personal bias but I am used to 3 other Anytime Fitness standards, and unfortunately this one falls a little bit short in the cleanliness. Pinole CA, Fairfield CA, an Windmill Lane NV all have much cleaner facilities, ranging from the cleanliness of machines and equipment, lack of hair and debris, restroom / showers kept clean. At 7 Hills, lots of old, dried sweat that have been there for awhile because it accumulated dust, floors not vacuumed very often, restrooms not cleaned very often (lots of hair, debris, dust that has collected for at least 4+ days), and studio floor not clean. To me, this is the primary reason I gave it 4 Stars.
Readers, please understand, it is a gym, so no one expects perfection, but I think a little more attention can go to the general upkeep of the facility. I have witnessed in the two CA locations I mentioned, as soon as the staff comes in for the day, they get right to work with a vacuum, spraying down and wiping available machines, blocking off one bathroom at a time to fully clean it, swiffer mop the studio, wipe windows down, etc. perhaps a similar model may help keep this gym in a cleaner state.
