| - I brake for boba. A grand opening you say? Screeeech. I'm there.
Ding Tea is international, with its cup touting its many Asian locations. Domestically, it's more of a southern California thing... until now. Located in the same plaza as Big Lots and Honey Pig, it's the latest addition to Chinatown's usual lineup.
For two days, they had a special BOGO event. It's a nice, noncommittal way of sipping and dipping. There was a bit of a line, but the shop came prepared with employees on deck ready and on top of it.
Here are some drinks I tried:
-- JASMINE GREEN TEA LATTE: This is my usual. Typically a latte means sea salt cream, but when I asked the employee what their topping was, he simply said it comes like the picture. Okay then... after some more prodding, he said it's their cream cheese topping. It was pretty good, faintly floral.
-- MANGO MILK TEA: I've never really seen this at shops, but decided to try. There really didn't seem to be a "milky" factor to it. Tasted kind of like lychee/light mango fruit juice.
-- OOLONG MILK TEA: Strong oolong tea taste, but a little too sugary. I'd probably get less sweet next time.
-- LYCHEE GREEN TEA WITH GOLDEN BOBA: Refreshing, but again a little too sweet. Their boba has sort of a clear color, but I had it the day after so not fair to critique its consistency.
