| - I love sweets and I love Christina Tossi, so it was inevitable that I would have to the milk bar Toronto flagship. The store is hidden inside momofuku on the second floor. It's a small glass room that has an assortment of cookies, truffles, crack pie, birthday cakes, and a few other sweets. Obviously everything is shipped from their NY bakery, but I don't mind. The set up is a bit odd, after picking up your items from upstairs, you have to head back down to the exit to pay for your items.
Prices are quite standard, you would pay the same at any bakery downtown for their sweets. I got three items and paid about $15 after tax.
The crack pie is incredibly buttery and sweet. Each bite has a nice chewy texture from the oats, but it melts in your mouth. The birthday truffles are explosions of birthday cake flavour with every bite. I also tried their cornflake chocolate chip cookie, which is overall super chewy, but also has a nice crunch from the cornflakes. Out of all these items, the crack pie was probably my favourite. Some people would find their items a little to sweet, but I didn't mind. As long as you eat it in moderation (which is almost impossible) then you'll be fine!
Next time you're in the financial/entertainment district and you're in mood for something sweet stop by this place.
