| - I am amazed at how many stars this place has on here, but I am here giving it 3 as well.
I go to this place probably one to two times a week, a convenient location for me and stays open *24 hours.* I imagine it is that plus the young, granola vibe the place has to it that keeps its rating up. If you stop in here once or twice, the atmosphere and yummy vegan treats will probably keep you from seeing the major management issues that are evident to anyone who frequents or has frequented this place..
Every time (and I mean EVERY time) I go in here, there are new employee faces I've never seen before. Not only that, but last week's "familiar" faces are gone; I am very curious about the turnover rate here. Just as inconsistent as the employees, are the PRICES (I get the same order every time) ranging from $4 for both drinks, to $8 for both, to $10 or $11 sometimes.. it takes so long to get my drinks and order most of the time that I don't even bother to argue, plus I know it's only going to make things harder on the newbie of the day. The coffee tastes good usually, but I always have to make sure my espresso shot is added or that the drink is made right.
I feel bad saying this as most people working there are young and seem to really be trying; I know it's hard to learn anything when you are trained by someone who really still could use training..
Yet, this place is still very successful.
I've never eaten the cooked food, only the muffins or pastries, but the bakery items are usually delicious and healthy. The artsy feel of this place keeps people coming back in, especially the youngins. Like I said, I go back too, but would never go out of my way for this place and my boyfriend and I know it always takes at least 10 minutes to get our coffees here..
